Three injured in Blacktown home invasion

Three people have been injured in a suspected home invasion in Blacktown, with shots fired by police. One man was found with a gun shot wound to the thigh, while another was found with wounds believed to have been caused by an axe.

Three people have been injured in a suspected home invasion in Blacktown.

Just after 4.45am this morning emergency services were called to a house on Stephen St, following reports of gunfire. Officers responded and shut down the street.

At the home one man was found with a gun shot wound to the thigh, while another was found with wounds believed to have been caused by an axe. Both victims were taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment, where they remain in a stable condition.

Two men were arrested by police, one a 33 year old man armed with a firearm. He was shot by police in the wrist and taken to Westmead Hospital, where he remains under police guard. Another man was arrested and taken to Blacktown Police Station.

An investigation remains underway at the scene with police looking into all the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the shots fired by police.

More information is expected to be released.
