Stuart Addams: Seven Hills man faces court over alleged molotov cocktail threat
A man who allegedly live-streamed himself threatening to throw a molotov cocktail into his partner’s dad’s house told police it was actually a citronella candle, a court has heard.

A man who live-streamed himself allegedly threatening to throw a molotov cocktail into his former partner’s house told police it was actually a citronella candle.
Stuart Addams, 41 of Seven Hills appeared at Blacktown Local Court via video link charged with using an offensive weapon to commit offence, threatening to damage property, intentionally choking someone, resisting police, stalking, and intimidation, breaching an AVO and common assault.
Police allege on July 28, Addams live streamed himself on Facebook holding a flaming object at a Toongabbie property owned by Melanie Addams.
On the livestream Addams could be allegedly be heard referring to the object: “I could just chuck this through the living room window”.
The court heard Addams’ former father-in-law arrived at his daughter’s property where he saw the Seven Hills man with “a small flame” prompting him to call triple-0 over fears a fire could spread.
Addams then allegedly called the man “a pussy” and went inside the house.
A short time later police arrived and found Addams allegedly in possession of a flaming object and a glass bottle filled with unknown liquid Police allege this was a molotov cocktail.
Following the arrival of police Addams allegedly became abusive and uncooperative.
The court heard he told police the object was a “citronella candle” to protect himself against mosquitoes, despite it being the middle of winter.
He was arrested and taken to Blacktown police station where he was charged.
Addams’ lawyer said his client had no real intention of causing damage to the property and was only seeking to “enliven his livestream audience”.
His son, ex-wife and partner were present for court proceedings.
Addams was denied bail and will remain in custody.
The matter will return to court on November 30.
