A senior bikie who was arrested in his dressing gown after he allegedly tried to access child abuse material online has faced court for the first time.
Satudarah bikie Steven John Berrier, 38, of Schofields, was charged in October with attempting to access child abuse material after an alleged search on his mobile phone’s Safari browser.
Police allege Berrier tried to access child abuse material some time between April and June this year in Schofields after a tip-off to Strike Force Raptor.
Officers raided Berrier’s home, seizing a phone, laptop and a reptile.
He was charged with failing to provide vet treatment to the bearded dragon lizard between September and October.
Police further allege Berrier was involved in the attempted sale of an electronic stun gun.
According to court documents, it’s alleged Berrier tried to sell a taser without a permit in March.
Berrier faced Blacktown Local Court on Thursday for the first time since being granted bail in October.
He did not enter pleas to the charges during his brief court appearance.
As part of his bail, he must live in Schofields, report to police twice a week and forfeit $500.
The case will return to court later this month.
