The club, which meets at Charlie Bali Reserve on Knox Rd, has been home to Olympic and gold medal Commonwealth Games hammer thrower Debbie Sosimenko who competed at the Sydney Olympics in 2000 and Athens in 2004.
She also presented annual club awards to Doonside athletes in April.
Under-13s competitor Caitlin Preston is also at the club and came first in the 400 metres Little Athletics State Championships in March.
“It’s a great club and we’ve had a lot of state and national champions start their athletics careers at Doonside,” club secretary Megan Douglas said.
The club meets every Friday from 6pm and offers track events, long jump, high jump, shot put, javelin, discus and hurdles.
As well as the main program which sees training and events for children under-six to under-17, there’s also a Tiny Tots club which caters for youngsters aged three and four and is aimed at having fun.
Orientation night will be held on September 2, while the first meet will take place on September 9.
