Saifullah Patel faces court over sexual assault charges

A 23 year old man has fronted Blacktown Court after he was arrested and charged over an alleged sexual act in Quakers Hill last week.

A man allegedly followed a mum who was walking with her one-year-old son into a park before performing a lewd act and then running away, a court heard.

Saifullah Patel, 23 is charged with stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm (personal), carry out sexual act with another without consent, and intentionally carry out sexual act with child (under 10). 

Just before 4pm on January 10, 2022, a woman was walking along Jewel Street, Quakers Hill, with her one-year-old son in a pram when she noticed a man walking behind her.

She continued on, walking into a reserve at the intersection of Tangerine Drive and Jasper Street, known as Reserve 842, when she observed the same man follow her into the park and perform a crude act.

The incident was reported to police, with officers attached to Riverstone Police Area Command commencing an investigation.

Officers later searched a home on Mallee Street in Quakers Hill, about 6.30pm on January 11. Patel was arrested and shortly after granted strict conditional bail.

The Director of Public Prosecutions elected on all charges in Blacktown Court on Wednesday meaning no plea was able to be entered.

The matter is next to appear in the same court on March 16.
