An alleged drug dealer and Coles worker has requested a day off reporting to police so that he can have a romantic getaway with his girlfriend ahead of his sentence.
Sahil Sahgal, 19, from Glenwood, faced Burwood Local Court on Monday on multiple drug supply and possession offences over three separate occasions in Lidcombe and The Ponds and Glenwood between last February and March.
The Coles packer, who is on bail, was arrested after police sighted him on March 16 and searched his black Audi at The Ponds.
Court facts state police found a resealable bag with a crystal substance in his tracksuit pants and a bag of white powder in his Gucci wallet.
When officers asked if he had anything more in his car he said, “Yeah in my bag on the passenger seat. I’ve got some valium and a bag of coke.”
Inside the Gucci bag, police found a clear bag with cocaine, five valium tablets and one oxycodone tablet.
When questioned by police as to where he bought the MDMA, he replied “the dark net.”
He has since pleaded guilty to possessing 0.5g of cocaine, 0.7g of MDMA, five valium tablets and oxycodone.
Just three months earlier, Sahgal was slapped with five drug charges relating to the supply of cocaine and MDMA, and the possession of 2.8g of cannabis leaf, 20 caps of MDMA and 4.1g of cocaine.
Sahgal has also pleaded guilty to possessing two bottles of anabolic steroids and 39 anastrozole tablets found in a separate police search last February.
In court, Sahgal, through his lawyer, asked to have a Wednesday off his regular weekly reporting so that he can holiday with his girlfriend.
“My client has a partner and they have a holiday booked for July 29. Is there any chance he can be excused for that Wednesday only,” his lawyer told the court.
Magistrate Alison Viney asked if there was a surety to which the lawyer replied “no.”
The magistrate suspended Sahgal’s reporting on July 29 only and adjourned the matter.
Sahgal will reappear at Burwood Local Court on November 9 for his sentence hearing on all charges.
