A cyclist who died in a tragic road accident in Sydney’s north west during a weekend ride has been identified as police seek to piece together his final moments.
Peter Ryan has been fondly remembered on social media after he fell off his bike and was hit by a car in Quakers Hill on Saturday.
Police say the 55-year-old was cycling in a group along Quakers Rd when the tragedy occurred at about 7am on April 17.
Riders and emergency crews worked to revive Mr Ryan, but sadly, he passed away at the scene.
Mr Ryan was an avid cyclist and member of the Marconi Cycling Club and Avantis pro racing team and was on a training ride at the time of his death.
A director at Property and Development NSW, Mr Ryan previously worked for Transport for NSW where he was a director of corporate real estate.
Prior to that, he worked for Service NSW and was director in charge at DTZ, since renamed Cushman and Wakefield.
Tributes have been flowing online for the successful corporate figure and old boy of St Joseph’s College, Hunters Hill.
