OneFour’s lead rapper has been banned from the suburb of origin of his controversial hip-hop group after being hit with a fresh criminal charge.
Jemz, formally known as Jerome Misa, 23, appeared in Mt Druitt Local Court last week, charged with one count of drug supply.
Police allege the Bligh Park rapper supplied more than an indictable quantity of a prohibited drug, but less than the commercial amount.
Police allege Misa was filming a music video in Willmot when he was searched by officers for firearms.
It’s further alleged Misa was found with a prescription drug in his possession which was in excess of the quantity for personal use.
Misa is a prominent member of the infamous drill rap group, which was formed in Mt Druitt and shares its name with a criminal street gang.
Despite the group’s controversial lyrics, they have publicly distanced themselves from the gang.
Misa was granted bail for the charge on April 14 and as part of his strict bail conditions, he is banned from entering the 2770 postcode, which covers the suburb of Mt Druitt and surrounding suburbs as far west as Willmot.
He must also abide by a curfew, which prohibits him from leaving his home between the hours of 10pm and 6am.
The group has strong affiliations to the Mt Druitt area, which features heavily in their lyrics and music videos.
Misa will return to court in June.
