One of the lead rappers of controversial western Sydney hip-hop group OneFour has been hit with a criminal charge.
Jerome Misa, known as J Emz, faced Mt Druitt Local Court last week, charged with one count of possessing an unauthorised firearm.
According to court documents, police allege the 22-year-old, from Bligh Park, was found in possession of a semiautomatic self-loading pistol at Tregear on April 11.
During a brief appearance at court on September 23, Mr Misa’s defence lawyer told the court three other men had been charged and were co-accuseds in the matter.
Mr Misa will face Penrith Local Court in November for charge certification.
WHAT IS ONEFOUR?
OneFour is a drill-style rap group originating in Mt Druitt, western Sydney, which shares its names with a criminal street gang.
The group has sparked controversy over their lyrics, which often refer to life on the streets.
