Detectives have released CCTV footage of a car believed to have been involved in a drive-by shooting at a western Sydney home, where a car had been set alight in an arson attack earlier the same day.
Strike force investigators revealed the footage of the allegedly stolen SUV on Thursday, as they continue to probe whether those incidents are linked to an alleged prison brawl between rival rappers.
Emergency services were called to a home on Discovery Ave in Wilmot about 3am on June 14, where police found a Holden hatchback alight in a driveway.
The fire was extinguished, but the car was completely destroyed.
Police were called to the same house around 11.40pm that night, following reports shots had been fired from a dark-coloured Toyota Prado SUV into the home.
It is alleged the Prado had been stolen.
The car fled the scene before police arrived, but no one was home at the time of the shooting and no one was injured.
It was later revealed the home belonged to the mother of 31-year-old rapper Sesita Lyzwa, also known as Radistarz, who had allegedly fought with rival rapper Ali “Ay Huncho” Younes at Parklea Correctional Centre, two days before the fire and subsequent shooting.
Both men were charged with affray over the fight, with Lyzwa later pleading guilty and being sentenced to a month in jail.
Younes has pleaded not guilty and is set to face Blacktown Local Court for a hearing on November 28.
Detectives investigating the shooting and fire at Wilmot say they believe the two incidents are linked to the alleged fight between Lyzwa and Younes.
Police have now released video of the allegedly stolen Toyota Prado used in the shooting heading southbound on the M7 motorway near Prestons and towards the M5 motorway, shortly after the shooting.
Detectives are asking anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage of the car, or information about either incident, to contact police or Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
Investigations are continuing.
