Police are hunting a group of men who impersonated officers and took part in illegal chases and vehicle stops with drivers in western Sydney last night while armed with a gun.
Police say the man approached at least two drivers in Mt Druitt in the early hours of Thursday morning while pretending to be officers.
In the first incident, a group of men inside a silver Holden Commodore approached a silver Kia Rio being on Carlisle Ave in Bidwill at about 1.30am on May 21.
The Commodore drove aggressively behind the Kia before turning on red and blue lights.
The driver of the Kia, a 20-year-old woman, stopped a short time later on Carlisle Ave in Hebersham where the men directed her to exit the car.
The woman quickly realised the men were not police officers are drove away immediately.
Just 20 minutes later, the men drove aggressively behind a second car on Carlisle Ave in Mt Druitt before activating their red and blue lights.
The driver of the vehicle, a 31-year-old man, stopped his car on Luxford Rd when the Commodore pulled over beside him.
The driver noticed the men were wearing dark clothing, hooded jumpers and masks before spotting one man in the car holding a gun and another with a knife.
Witnesses came out from a nearby house and the men drove off from the scene.
Mt Druitt Police are urging anyone who was in the area at the time or who may have dashcam footage to contact 1800 333 000.
