A western Sydney man has been charged with drug supply after a raid on a Hebersham home allegedly revealed a cache of illicit drugs, including cannabis and methylamphetamine.

Officers attached to the North West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad in Penrith launched an investigation earlier this month into drug supply in the Hebersham area.

As part of their inquiries, investigators executed a search warrant at a property on Macartney Cres, Hebersham shortly before 9am on Wednesday.

Officers allegedly located and seized cannabis, methylamphetamine, a loaded shortened .22 calibre rifle with ammunition, a shortened air rifle, luxury watches, jewellery, and cash at the home.

The occupant, Wayne Raymond Salkald, 38, was arrested at Mt Druitt Police Station on Thursday.

He was charged with supplying a prohibited drug – indictable quantity, possessing a prohibited drug, two counts each of possessing an unauthorised weapon and possessing a shortened firearm, possessing ammo and a prohibited weapon without a license, having items suspect stolen, and dealing with property proceeds of crime.

Salkald will remain behind bars on remand after being refused bail at Mt Druitt Local Court on Friday.

He will reappear before the same court on March 8.
