After putting out a call for nominations for the Blacktown and Mt Druitt area’s best pizza and counting the votes from our online poll, the winner can be revealed.
Blacktown Advocate readers had last week to vote for the best pizza in the region.
After votes were cast, the winner can be revealed … Mina Bakery, Blacktown.
The Sunnyholt Road pizza and manoosh eatery opened less than five years ago, but has already won over locals’ hearts (and tastebuds).
The store is husband and wife team Tamader Hasan and Ibrahim Altaei’s first foray into the restaurant business. And they have plans to expand.
“My husband was a chef and worked in Italy and England from the age of 16 so he had the experience. That was what encouraged me,” Ms Hasan said.
She said the secret to their tasty offerings was all in the flavour and the ingredients.
“We have a secret sauce and how we make the dough is important, too,” she said.
“All our ingredients are fresh. If something isn’t fresh, we throw it in the bin.”
Excellent customer service was also at the heart of the Mina Bakery business.
The store’s most popular pizzas include the peri peri chicken, meat lovers and barbecue chicken.
