M7 Cycleway crash, Rooty Hill: Police plea to identify men on scooter

Two young men who ran away after the scooter they were riding and a bicycle crashed at Rooty Hill are now the subject of a police call to the public for help. Here’s what we know.

Two young men who ran away after the scooter they were riding and a bicycle crashed at Rooty Hill are now the subject of a police call to the public for help.

A 31-year-old woman - who was riding the bike - suffered leg and arm injuries and was taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition after the collision on the M7 Cycleway at Rooty Hill on July 30 last year.

Police say the rider and a passenger aboard the scooter fled the scene.

Mount Druitt Police Area Command officers handled initial inquiries into the crash before the Crash Investigation Unit took over under Strike Force Yari.

Police have now released images of two men they believe may be able to assist with the investigation.

The rider of the scooter is described as being 20 to 25 years of age and about 170 to 1755cm tall, of thin build.

He was wearing a black balaclava, black puffer vest, blue jumper, black DKNY pants with white Nike TN shoes.

The passenger is described as being 15 to 20 years of age and about 160 to 165cm tall.

He was dressed in a black hooded jumper and black tracksuit pants.
