A woman has been freed from the wreckage of a car after a serious, three-vehicle smash in Sydney’s northwest on Tuesday morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Old Windsor Rd and Windsor Rd, in Kellyville Ridge, about 10am to reports of a two-car crash also involving a truck.

Firefighters had to free a woman from one of the cars.

A NSW Ambulance spokesman said the woman, believed to be in her 80s, had since been taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition with neck and back pain.

He said a second patient has been taken to Blacktown Hospital to be treated for minor injuries, also in a stable condition.

The remaining two patients, also with minor injuries, declined to be taken to hospital.

A NSW Police spokeswoman said two of the eastbound lanes on Windsor Rd had been obstructed, with traffic diversions in place.

Traffic was expected to be impacted for some time while debris left on the road was cleaned up.
