Allen was asked by cops if he had anything illegal on him, to which he replied “yes, I have it in my pants” before pulling out two resealable bags containing cannabis.

The police fact sheet states that upon searching his vehicle they also found a pair of knuckle dusters under the passenger seat which Allen said was “for his own protection”.

In Blacktown Court on Tuesday, Magistrate Brian van Zuylen asked Allen what he could possibly need knuckle dusters for to which he replied, “for my safety”.

The magistrate was visibly displeased, adding: “Protection? The only use there is for them is to break someone’s jaw. Is that what you were intending to do?

“As for the drugs, surely you have something better to do with your time and money than cannabis.”

Allen pleaded guilty to the charges of possessing a prohibited drug and for possessing a prohibited weapon without a licence.

He was fined $400 in total for the two offences.
