Adam’s might not be fancy on the outside but is welcoming and modern.
Adam’s is the place you want to be on game night, weekend dinners with the family or a schooner once you’ve clocked off for the day. It is the food that publican Bob McGhee is most proud of.
“Food is the hardest thing in this business, it takes years to perfect,” Mr McGhee said.
“We are passionate about our food and the key is to keep it simple with a good variety.”
Head chef Chris Grill, a Blacktown local, has harnessed his experience working in fine dining restaurants and brasseries from Yamba to the Gold Coast to create a menu that focuses on quality pub favourites.
The grilled barramundi is sizeable and a steal at $18. It is moist and flavoursome with a tangy lemon and caper butter sauce that complements the golden fries and fresh salad. The burgers come with beer battered chips that Mr McGhee says “crispy but soft on the inside. An experience in every chip!”
Chicken parmigiana is the signature dish and is topped with napolitana sauce and melted mozzarella. Schnitty lovers will appreciate the wide variety on offer, from classics to the chilli cheese or surf and turf parmigiana.
Some dishes break tradition, like the gourmet sausages and creamy mash that are “flavoursome, dense and full of body.”
Adam’s is run by locals, with the food sourced from local markets and suppliers.
Mr McGhee says “everyone knows everyone here” — he addresses each of the patrons by name and he is Bob to the customers.
The newly renovated beer garden is complete with big screens and a timber deck, ideal for private functions.
