A multimillion-dollar hotel has been proposed to transform the site of an Asian supermarket in the Blacktown CBD.
The $174 million development would see the construction of a 24-storey hotel at 17-21 First Ave, which is currently occupied by Good Luck Plaza.
Documents tendered by town planner Mecone to the NSW Department of Planning and Environment reveal that the hotel would include a mixture of 277 hotel rooms and 110 serviced apartments, retail, dining, conference facilities and five levels of underground parking.
The hotel tower and serviced apartment building would be joined by a lift at the centre at the 3160 square metre site.
If approved, the development would stand as one of the CBD’s tallest buildings, matching the 24-storey Altitude apartment tower.
The developer is required to submit an Environmental Impact Statement before a development application can be submitted to the department as a State Significant Development.
As shown in planning documents, the development proposal relies on the gazettal of Blacktown Council’s CBD Planning Proposal, which would increase the maximum building height for the area to 80 metres.
