Baby survives being thrown from window after fire destroys unit at Bruce St Blacktown

A BABY survived after being thrown from a second-level unit window as fire raced through the home below it at Blacktown this morning.

A BABY survived after being thrown from a second-level unit window when fire raced through the home below it at Blacktown.

Police were told the seven-month-old baby girl was unharmed during the blaze, which destroyed a Bruce St unit about 7.35am.

Eight people were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation; four of those were taken to Blacktown Hospital. No other reports of injury have been received.

Blacktown police are investigating the fire. Initial inquiries have indicated that the fire is not suspicious.
