Eastern Creek Quarter: Eateries announced for new street food precinct
The first round of eateries coming to the soon-to-open Eastern Creek Quarter have been announced.
The transformation of Eastern Creek into a bustling dining and retail precinct is one step closer to reality with the first round of eateries announced for Eastern Creek Quarter.
The first stage of the $95 million shopping centre development is expected to open later this year, covering more than 15 hectares within Western Sydney Parklands at the corner of the Great Western Highway and Rooty Hill Rd South.
Developer Frasers Property last week announced the first street food operators were expected to open at Eastern Creek Quarter, which included popular Mt Druitt Vietnamese restaurant Pho Ever, Croatian concept Marijan’s Grill, Thai Master, Middle East Feast, Burrito Bar, Health Bar & Co. and bubble tea outlet Chatime.
The street food precinct will operate on short-term revolving tenancies of around six months, giving different food retailers the chance to showcase their offerings.
Opportunities still remain for several eateries in the next rotation of short-term tenancies, with gelato, hotdog, rice yoghurt, crepes, ribs, pasta and vegan retailers sought.
Pho Ever owner-operator Kevin Nguyen said he was excited to be a part of the unique concept.
“The street food concept is something new and different to the western suburbs and we wanted to be represented,” he said.
“At the moment, in that area, there’s nowhere to go for a great relaxed bite to eat after 7pm. “The local community deserves this kind of offer and we can’t wait to begin serving people from day one.”
Tim Moore of Frasers Property said the street food lane was poised to become a destination dining experience.
“Our vision for Eastern Creek Quarter is to deliver an experience that is a ‘new day out’ for visitors and a vibrant, diverse and exciting street food offer is central to this vision,” he said.
“The design and connectivity will make Eastern Creek Quarter a convenient and comfortable place to visit and now, with this exciting line-up of fantastic food operators secured, the centre will draw people from far and wide looking to sample something new and different.”
Woolworths has already been announced as the development’s anchor, along with a BWS liquor store, and a health and wellbeing precinct comprising a medical centre, pharmacy, childcare centre and gym.
Future stages of the development are likely to include ‘big box’ and bulky goods retailers.
Eastern Creek Quarter is expected to contribute more than $100 million to the local economy and is anticipated to cater for more than 360,000 people living within 15 minutes’ drive of the centre.
