Police have served a fresh charge on a western Sydney man who allegedly produced child abuse material with infants and was found with hundreds of thousands of child abuse images and videos at his home.

Bryan Michael Grange, 38, of Marayong, was arrested by Australian Federal Police in October 2019 having allegedly sexually abused three children and used them to produce child abuse material.

He was charged with 70 offences and was on Thursday hit with a fresh charge, with police alleging Mr Grange had sex with a child when she was between three and five years of age.

Police swooped on Mr Grange last year after receiving a tip-off from US Homeland Security that he had allegedly tried to buy child abuse material online.

A subsequent raid on his Marayong home allegedly uncovered 180,000 images and eight videos of child pornography on a laptop, computer and SD card.

Initially, he was charged with four offences, including accessing child pornography and possessing child abuse material, however investigators have since served dozens of extra charges.

According to court documents, Mr Grange allegedly indecently assaulted an infant girl and using her to produce child sex abuse material.

The shocking allegations involve Mr Grange assaulting the girl over a period of five years, and him filming the assaults for the purposes of making child pornography.

Bryan Grange will face Penrith Local Court again in November.

Police further allege Mr Grange raped a second infant girl, and used her to film child abuse material.

A third girl was also allegedly raped by Mr Grange and used to create similar material.

Mr Grange was excused from appearing at Penrith Local Court on Friday when it was heard he had been charged with a fresh offence, dating back to 2017.

Magistrate Geoff Hiatt said the case would need to proceed with pleas entered at the next court date.

In total, Mr Grange faces 14 counts of indecently assaulting a person under 16, a further five counts of intentionally sexually touching a child under 10 and another two charges of inciting a person under 10 to commit an indecent act.

He faces 37 charges of using a child under 14 for the production of child abuse material and several charges of using the internet to access child pornography between July 2015 and September 2019.

With the latest charge, Mr Grange faces 71 charges in total.

He remains in custody having been refused bail, and will next face court in November.
