A Blacktown solicitor charged over allegedly destroying CCTV footage in connection to the murder of Craig Anderson in Doonside this year has been released on bail.

Alev Rojda Oncu, 28, was arrested at a home in Blacktown this morning as part of Strike Force Naradhun investigations into the shooting murder of Mr Anderson on May 27.

Anderson, 51, was shot four times outside his home in Meridian Pl and died at the scene. Six men — aged 22, 44, two aged 27 and two aged 28 — have been charged over the murder and they remain before the courts.

Ms Oncu, who is a solicitor with Parramatta’s National Criminal Lawyers, has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder and tampering with evidence with intent to mislead a judicial tribunal.

Police allege Ms Oncu — who is married to Ali Afsin Cevik, 27, who is charged in connection to Mr Anderson’s murder — destroyed CCTV evidence of her husband and co-accused Sean Fairweather, 28.

In applying for bail, defence solicitor Paul McGirr said the allegations were “pure speculation.”

“This is pure ‘if we got that, we would’ve found something more’,” Mr McGirr told the court.

“Where is the evidence my client knew he (Cevik) killed someone? None.

“The danger of this is speculation upon speculation.”

Mr McGirr said Ms Oncu had a clean criminal record and would be contesting the charges.

The court also heard Ms Oncu’s boss at National Criminal Lawyers, Michael Moussa, had been acting for her husband in the case.

In granting bail, Magistrate Leanne Robinson said the allegations were aggravated by Ms Oncu’s role as a practising criminal lawyer.

“They are very serious offences, given the nature of assistance for which her husband has been charged,” Ms Robinson said.

“It is aggravated by the fact Ms Oncu is a solicitor who practices in criminal law. It can be inferred that she had knowledge of her actions.”

Ms Robinson said the alleged offences constituted a “fundamental breach” of the justice system and that there were serious concerns over “further interference with witnesses or evidence” while on bail.

As part of her bail conditions, Ms Oncu was ordered to not contact any prosecution witnesses, including her husband Mr Cevic and her employer, Mr Moussa, at National Criminal Lawyers.

She is only allowed to have one mobile phone and email address, with the details of both to be provided to police.

Police allege Jim Dastan, 27, allegedly shot Mr Anderson four times outside his Doonside home.

Mr Dastan has been charged with one count of murder while his younger brother, Joshkun Dastan, 22, and Ali Afsin Cevik, 27, were each charged with murder and participating in a criminal group. Co-accused Sean Fairweather, 28, was charged with murder, participating in a criminal group and a string of firearms offences.

In June, a 44-year-old Mt Druitt man was charged with murder and participating in a criminal group.

In July, a 28-year-old Oxley Park man was charged with murder and participating in a criminal group after allegedly supplying a firearm. However, is not alleged the gun was used in the murder.

Ms Oncu is expected to face Blacktown Local Court again on November 28.
