Blacktown: NSW Police officer Tyler Field charged with negligent driving

A NSW Police officer has been charged with negligent driving after allegedly hitting an 18-year-old on their motorbike with his car.

A NSW Police officer has been charged with negligent driving after a two vehicle crash left a teenager with a fractured arm.

Tyler Field, 23, appeared before Blacktown Local Court on Tuesday, facing one charge of negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.

Police allege at 5.10am on September 6 2024, Field drove his white Ford Ranger through the intersection between Richmond Rd and Eucumbene Drive in Woodcroft.

Police allege Field failed to give way to the motorcycle causing the rider, aged 18, to fall from his bike.

According to police, this resulted in the teenager suffering a broken right arm and hand, and abrasions.

Field, who was off duty at the time of the incident, was issued a court attendance notice for negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.

No plea has been entered, with Field to appear at court on March 25.
