A Sydney man who police allege has links to international drug cartels has been denied bail after allegedly supplying large amounts of drugs across NSW.
Gabriel Chuks Onyeaka, 45, was charged with two counts of supply a prohibited drug of a commercial quantity and two counts of supply a small quantity of prohibited drug after he was arrested by detectives and raptor squad officers in Arndell Park on Thursday, August 1.
Mr Onyeaka faced Blacktown Local Court on Friday, August 2, to make an application for bail.
It is alleged Mr Onyeaka is linked to a sophisticated organised crime network from Nigeria and South America which is involved in the importation and supply of drugs.
Police seized 700g of heroin and $120,000 in cash while searching both Mr Onyeaka and his car, following his arrest.
Separate searches were then conducted in Plumpton and North Rocks, where a further 1.5kg of an unknown powder was allegedly found.
Police said the arrest followed a lengthy probe under Strike Force Wendle - which probed an alleged large commercial drug supply, including heroin, across New South Wales.
Mr Onyeaka was denied bail by Magistrate Geoffrey Hiatt.
He will next face court at Penrith Local Court on August 27.
