Blacktown man refused bail after allegedly having sex with granddaughter

A Blacktown man remains behind bars after police alleged he had sex with his granddaughter and indecently assaulted her when she was aged between 11 and 12 years old.

A Blacktown man remains behind bars after allegedly having sex with his granddaughter and indecently assaulting her on several occasions.

The man, 60, was charged on April 16 with having sexual intercourse with his granddaughter when she was aged between 11 and 12 years.

He also faces nine counts of assault with an act of indecency on the same child.

The offending is alleged to have occurred between January 2014 and December 2016.

Police allege the man touched his granddaughter’s genitals and placed her hand on his penis on three occasions, touched her breasts and kissed her on the lips.

A legal representative indicated the man would be pleading not guilty to nine of the charges, but was yet to enter a plea for the sexual intercourse allegation.

He will appear at Blacktown Local Court on May 8 where he is expected to apply for bail.
