Blacktown coronavirus cases on the rise, latest health data shows

There are almost 70 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Blacktown City, after an additional nine cases were diagnosed in the past 24 hours.
As of 8pm on Monday night, NSW Health confirmed the Blacktown Local Government Area had 67 cases of COVID-19, with six linked to a Blacktown school and childcare centre.
The latest figure represents an increase of about 15 per cent from Sunday, with seven local cases having no known contact with the virus.
The Blacktown region now has the sixth highest number of confirmed cases for local government areas across the state, with Waverly the highest at 140 cases.
Across NSW, there were an additional 114 cases overnight, bringing the state’s total to 2032.
At the weekend, Tyndale Christian School in Blacktown became the first school in the region with known COVID-19 cases after two students and an ancillary staff member tested positive to the virus.
The Rose of Sharon Childcare Centre in Blacktown also has three confirmed cases of the virus after a staff member and two children tested positive.
The school remains closed until at least Wednesday, while the childcare centre is closed until further notice.
