A western Sydney man who allegedly stored a safe full of drugs inside his child’s bedroom has been charged with commercial drug supply.
Billal Hawa, 35, was arrested by detectives from Strike Force Raptor in Prospect yesterday after a raid of his Aldgate St home allegedly uncovered a stash of cocaine and more than $50,000 in cash.
Police allege Mr Hawa was involved in the ongoing supply of illicit drugs across Sydney.
Officers stopped Mr Hawa in a grey Toyota Camry on Blacktown Rd, Prospect, at about 4pm on June 11 and, with the help of the dog squad, allegedly found 80 resealable bags of cocaine concealed in the driver’s side door and beneath the gear stick.
A small amount of the drug ice, and about $1000, believed to be the proceeds of crime, were also allegedly found.
Paramedics were called to treat the man after he complained of chest pains, and he was taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition under police guard.
He was released shortly after.

More than 30 boxes of fireworks, cannabis, diazepam, counterfeit money and drug supply items were also allegedly found.
He was taken to Blacktown Police Station and charged with nine offences, including one count of commercial drug supply, two counts of supplying a prohibited drug (indictable quantity), two counts of possessing a prohibited drug, recklessly dealing with the proceeds of crime and handling explosives without a licence.
He faced Parramatta Local Court today. The matter will return to court in August.
