The allegedly drunk and drug driver who killed four children while they were walking to get ice-cream in Oatlands earlier this year has returned to court.

Samuel William Davidson, 30, of Oatlands, faces 34 charges over the deaths of the Abdallah siblings – Antony, 13, Angelina 12, and Sienna, 8 – and their cousin Veronique Sakr, 11, on the evening of February 1.

Police allege Mr Davidson was driving a Mitsubishi Triton ute along Bettington Rd when he mounted the kerb and struck the group of seven children at about 8pm.

Three children – an 11-year-old boy and two girls, aged 10 and 13 – suffered serious injuries and were treated in hospital.

It’s alleged Mr Davidson had a high-range blood alcohol reading of 0.150 and had the drugs MDMA and cocaine in his system on the night of the crash.

Mr Davidson did not appear when his matter was mentioned in Parramatta Local Court today and is yet to enter a plea to the charges.

Police also allege he was speeding at more than 45km/h over the speed limit and ran a red light at the intersection of Bettington Rd and Pennant Hills Rd in the moments leading up to the crash.

In April, Mr Davidson was hit with 14 fresh charges, the most serious being four counts of manslaughter, dangerous driving occasioning death, negligent driving, driving with a high range PCA as well as proceeding through a red light and driving with illicit drugs in his system.

Mr Davidson’s defence solicitor did not apply for bail in court today and it was formally refused.

The matter will return to Parramatta Local Court on July 23.
