A Benalla man has been charged over an alleged stabbing which left his alleged victim with life-threatening injuries.

A 26-year-old man has been charged following an alleged stabbing that occurred after an altercation broke out on a quiet Benalla street in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Police were called to reports of an altercation on Jensen Ct at 1am on January 30 where they found a 38-year-old man had allegedly been stabbed in the stomach.
He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police arrested the accused man at a nearby address and he has been charged with intentionally causing serious injury and was remanded to the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court.
