Former Miss Grand Ukraine Anastasiia Lenna joins Ukrainian military in its push against the Russian invasion

A former Miss Ukraine has gone viral after she ditched her heels for combat boots and an assault rifle to defend her country.

Former Miss Ukrainian Anastasia Lenna has donned army boots and an assault rifle to fight off Vladimir Putin's army as she vows that anyone that crosses the Ukrainian border “with the intent to invade will be killed”.

The beauty queen, who represented her country in 2015, revealed she has signed up to defend her home from Russian forces.

“Everyone who crosses the Ukrainian border with the intent to invade will be killed!,” she posted on Instagram.

It was accompanied by a photo of armed soldiers blocking a road.

Another post said: “Our (Ukraine‘s) army is fighting in such a way that NATO should apply for entry into Ukraine.”

She also posted a photo showing soldiers walking with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who she called “a true and strong leader”.

In one post, Ms Lenna calls on Ukrainians to remove all road signs to make it difficult for invading soldiers to navigate through Ukraine, according to The Sun.

“Dismantling road signs on all roads of the country. The enemy has a pathetic connection, they don‘t orientate the terrain. Let’s help them go straight to hell,” she wrote.

“The State Road Agency of Ukraine calls on all road organisations, territorial communities, local authorities to immediately start dismantling road signs nearby.”

It comes as Ukrainian forces in Kyiv survive another ‘brutal’ night of shelling after destroying a column of Russian vehicles.

Ukrainian authorities describe some Russian troops as demoralised and exhausted, claiming that dozens have surrendered.

As of Sunday, local time, Ukraine had taken control of its second city, Kharkiv, after resistance fighters pushed back against Putin’s troops in another failed siege.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko said Kyiv is “fully encircled” by Russian troops leaving no way out for 2.8 million people now facing “a humanitarian catastrophe”.

The former heavyweight boxer told The Associated Press that it was now impossible to evacuate the city “because all ways are blocked.”

“Right now we are encircled,” he admitted.

Klitschko confirmed that at least nine civilians had been killed in Kyiv so far, including one child.
