A worldwide search to find a builder for Australia’s tallest tower in Melbourne has reached its final stages.
The mini metropolis that will be STH BNK by Beulah is set to start construction at the end of this year, with twin towers as high as 366m set to transform the city skyline.
Developers have scoured the globe to find the right builders of the tall towers that will be home to a Four Seasons hotel, the world’s highest “vertical garden” and an auto club fleet of 50 luxury cars for residents.
A striking artist’s impression of the development reveals how the $2bn-plus dual skyscraper project will light up the city.
Developer Beulah said it had a shortlist of companies from around the world and a winning bidder would soon be named.
“The shortlist is made up of high calibre, established, well-renowned builders who are experienced in super-tall towers and have built some of the most iconic buildings in Australia and overseas,” it said.
Beulah said the project had attracted global attention in the construction industry and it had met with Australian and international companies in search of a builder.
“In this long-term partnership, Beulah is looking to collaborate with an established company who have extensive experience in building tall towers and experience in delivering world-class residential and commercial buildings,” it said.
More than 100 shops, 50,000sq m of offices, green spaces including eight pocket parks, child care, dining outlets, a wellbeing precinct and a cultural centre partnered with Centre Pompidou will be built in the development.
The STH BNK Auto Club will offer residents access to BMWs, Teslas, Porches and Range Rovers for residents via a carshare subscription.
Construction is tipped to start at the end of this year, be completed in six years, with the first stages finished in 2026.
