A man has been charged with the death of a woman who was found dead in a Garbutt home last month.
Police confirmed Wednesday morning that a 53-year-old man who was known to the 47-year-old woman has been charged with one count of murder.
It’s reported by police that the woman died on October 30, however authorities were called to the Chandler Street property to conduct a welfare check on November 4 at 1:45pm and found the woman with a stab wound to the chest.
A crime scene was declared and police conducted extensive investigations.
The man is scheduled to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court May 30, 2025.
