Townsville Police have arrested three people following an alleged armed robbery at a petrol station in Pimlico.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman alleged that a man armed with a fake handgun entered the station of Palmerston Street and demanded cash before fleeing in a waiting vehicle at 8.45am on Tuesday morning.
“Around 9.45am, police intercepted the vehicle on Kings Road, Pimlico and arrested three men,” she said.
“One of the men was allegedly in possession of the handgun, which police identified as a gel blaster.”
The QPS spokeswoman said that nobody was physically injured during the incident and that the investigation was ongoing.
The service station has since reopened.
Ampol confirmed that it did have a fuel distribution contract with the servo but did not own it.
Meanwhile, a spokeswoman said QPS was yet to make any arrests in relation to the allegedly violent, high-profile home invasion in Mount Louisa in the early hours of Sunday morning.
