A man accused of hitting a teen with his car in a fatal hit and run has fronted court from jail shedding light on new charges he faces.

A man who police alleged killed a teen in a hit and run has had the charge along with extra charges that have come to light, mentioned in court.
Raphael Steven Woodhouse appeared in Townsville Magistrates Court on Thursday via video link for separate offences of assault occasioning bodily harm, disqualified driving and contravening a requirement from police.
Magistrate Susan Warrington asked the man who was behind bars at Lotus Glen Correctional why he was in custody and questioned if he had additional charges before court.
“Yeah I have a dangerous operation causing death charge,” he said.
“I’ve only been in here one month.”
The man was referring to an offence where it’s alleged that on April 23 the 31-year-old was the driver of a vehicle that struck a 19-year-old boy on a dirt bike and fled the scene.
The dirt bike rider, Michael Wehrman was rushed to hospital however died a short time later.
Mr Woodhouse told the court he had 13 charges total, 10 being offences from Innisfail and said solicitors from Arnell and Cooper Lawyers were assisting him and had planned for all his charges to be mentioned in Townsville court.
Magistrate Warrington adjourned all matters to be mentioned in Townsville court on June 26, Mr Woodhouse’ appearance will not be required.
