A mother from Innisfail is calling on the help of Taylor Swift fans to gain the global superstar’s attention after her eight-year-old daughter was hospitalised, leaving her unable to attend the Eras Tour.

Evelyn Healy was flown to the Townsville University Hospital from Cairns last week after suffering from streptococcus pneumoniae and empyema. She’s been in the pediatric intensive care unit, her mum, Katie Healy saying she is “kicking goals” in treatment.

Ms Healy took to social media on Sunday to share a video of the Eras Tour friendship bracelet themed bunting that the hospital staff had made for Evelyn’s room.

“She is really excited we get to take it home with us and is already planning where to hang it up in her room,” Ms Healy said.

She explained that she had secured the tickets back in June of last year for Evelyn and her sister Bethany and has spent the past eight months preparing costumes, learning all the songs and talking about the concert with her two daughters.

“Talking about what era we wanted to dress up as and all the possibilities was lots of and lots of fun. It has been months in the planning,” Ms Healy said.

“We are not allowed any music in the car that is not Taylor Swift. All music in our household, really, has to be Taylor.

“We have little moments where the three of us are singing along and its beautiful. These are moments we will cherish.”

Ms Healy wrote on the post “while Evie is kicking goals with her treatment and recovery, the devastating reality is that she will not be well enough to make the concert.”

When Evelyn received the devastating news, she just made her mum and sister promise to look good in their costumes.

Evelyn herself was planning as going as the ‘Reputation’ era as it’s her favourite album along with ‘Lover.’

“She’s sad she’s missing out but she’s happy me and Bethany are still going,” Ms Healy said.

“We know Taylor Swift is incredibly busy being ‘The Man’ but if there is any way she might be able to find the time to send a little video to Evie, or just a comment on my post, it would mean the absolute world to a little girl who now has to spend her Eras Tour lifetime experience in hospital instead.”

Ms Healy has also asked fellow Swifties to share her daughter’s story as much as they can in hopes of getting the popstar’s attention.

The family have already been inundated with messages from fans attending the Sydney show asking if they can video any songs for Evelyn or send her a friendship bracelet.

“The Swiftie community is incredibly kind and beautiful,” Ms Healy said.

There is still a long road to recovery ahead for Evelyn who has already been in hospital for a full week.

Ms Healy has been able to stay with her daughter while Evelyn’s dad has accommodation with the Ronald McDonald House.

“If this gets to Taylor and if she can make any form of contact it would mean the world to Evelyn,” Ms Healy said.

“We know there’s a good chance that won’t happen but you don’t know if you don’t try. And it would really soften the blow, if she had something special that was just hers.”
