‘Missed every day’: Ayr motorbike crash victim identified

The victim of a fatal motorbike crash in the Burdekin has been remembered as a “loving” son and father of two.

Brady Watson, 38, has been identified as the man killed in the early hours of September 12 when the blue Yamaha motorbike he was riding crashed along a footpath near the Bruce Highway in Ayr.

The crash occurred just after midnight, and despite the best efforts of first responders, Mr Watson was declared dead at the scene.

A 34-year-old female passenger who was on the bike with Mr Watson survived the crash and was taken to Ayr Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Originally from Mackay, its understood Mr Watson had recently relocated to Ayr.

His family is now preparing to say their final goodbyes at the Home Hill Cemetery, where his funeral will take place on Monday, September 23.

In a heartfelt funeral notice, Mr Watson was described as a ”loving” son, brother, and father to two children.

“In our hearts, he will always remain — loved, remembered, and missed every day,” the notice read.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation and police have urged any witnesses or individuals with relevant information or footage to come forward.
