Drone show to light up Townsville Supercars sky

Fans can kick back at the Townsville Supercars after a day of racing and world class music to watch a 500-drone lightshow in the skies above Reid Park.
The three-day V8 event begins Friday July 7.
A 500-drone lightshow will cap off Saturday night. The buzzing LED covered devices will be synched with music and perform a Supercars-themed show.
The drones will take off after the The Ministry of Sound’s Classical show.
Internationally renowned drone specialists Australian Traffic Network will put on the show.
ATN Drone Light Show Business Manager Chris Greaves said the fleet of state-of-the-art drones equipped with LED lights were controlled by designers and pilots.
“The Townsville sky will transform into a canvas of enchanting patterns, stunning formations, and dynamic shapes themed around the sport we all love, creating a truly unforgettable experience for everyone,” Mr Greaves said.
As well as a drone show, the Supercars race in Townsville will feature the Gen3 Chevrolet Camaros and Ford Mustangs for the first time.
Supercars champion Shane van Gisbergen will compete in his 500th career race at Reid Park.
