Driver charged after Aitkenvale crash where four were taken to hospital

A driver has been charged with failing to give way after an Aitkenvale traffic crash which resulted in four people being hospitalised. Read the latest.

Police have charged a driver following a traffic crash in Aitkenvale, which resulted in the hospitalisation of four patients.

Queensland Ambulance said in a statement that emergency services were called to the scene of a two-vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of Anne and Patrick Street, just after 7pm on Wednesday.

Paramedics rendered assistance to two men and two women before transporting them to Townsville University Hospital – all in a stable condition.

A man in his 60s suffered facial injuries, while the other man in his 20s had a shoulder injury.

A woman in her 50s sustained neck and chest injuries, and a female in her late teens received minor injuries.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman confirmed that one of the drivers had been issued a traffic infringement notice for failing to give way at the roundabout.
