Townsville coffee enthusiasts Luke and Kristy Lee Guazzo saw a gap in the coffee market and strived to create something new in the thriving industry.

From that Coffee Presto was born.

By mixing coffee roasting, local products and Queensland’s taste for coffee, the couple took advantage of a new space in Rosslea having previously operated from a coffee cart.

In their new location they roast their own coffee beans, make their own syrups and sell quality coffee to those either wanting to grab a quick caffeine hit or those wanting to sit and enjoy with friends.

Located on Bowen Road, Rosslea the location has a large traffic flow past the business, allowing for many to get their morning coffee on the way to work.

Ms Guazzo said they worked hard to create a relaxing, comfortable space.

“By using the greenery and open seating space, as well as having the nice breezeway come through it’s so nice and peaceful to sit and have a coffee even though we are near a main road,” she said.

“You can choose your level of engagement with us. You can simply stop buy for a coffee, or you can purchase beans, coffee accessories or even buy a coffee machine.”

The couple said a big focus of the venture was to be as environmentally sustainable as possible, focusing also on local Queensland products.

“We look at North Queensland and Australia wide and then if we do import we are very transparent about that,” Mr Guazzo said.

Mr and Mrs Guazzo said they were blown away by the support from the community.

“We are very grateful to our staff for helping us deliver that atmosphere.

“There are lots of coffee shops closer to the city of Townsville but to have somewhere like this in the suburbs is great. To have a natural environment like we have here with the open space with plants and greenery is really great.”

Ms Guazzo said Coffee Presto suited the needs of everyone, no matter their level of love for coffee.

“We have people that come and sit and work here and we have people that meet for coffee with babies or catching up with old friends. More than a coffee roaster, we are aiming to be a community hub.”

Coffee Presto is located at 103 Bowen Road, Rosslea.
