Hollywood actor Chris Hemsworth has spent an adventurous weekend in Tasmania — first go-karting, then taking to the mountain on the back of a bike at a popular park.
Sharing a series of photos and videos on his Instagram page, Hemsworth captioned the adventure: “Little biking strike mission down to Tasmania with my boys. Proud dad moment watching them launch themselves down the mountain with far more control and way less fear than me!”
He signed off with a “big thanks” to Maydena Bike Park and Rhys Ellis, as well as Byron Bay filmmaker Justin McMillan “for an amazing trip” to Tasmania.
‘Mum, I just met a superhero!’
WHEN young Jackson Fletcher was zooming around his local kart track, little did he know he was racing against the son of a superhero.
Kingston families couldn’t believe their eyes when the real-life ‘Thor’ — Hollywood superstar Chris Hemsworth — strolled in to the local karting track on Saturday morning.
“My son had no idea he was there until after the race, and I asked for a quick photo before (Hemsworth’s) son came out,” Vicki Armstead said, adding the Aussie actor noticed Jackson’s Avengers T-shirt “straight away”.
“He told him he liked his shirt and I took the photo. He was really nice and so patient with people,” Ms Armstead said.
“My son said ‘Mum, I just met a superhero!’.”
Hyperdrive Kart Racing co-owner Steven Cutcliffe said staff and customers were surprised when the Aussie actor “just rocked up”.
“It was very cool,” Mr Cutcliffe said.
“The kids had some races in the junior karts and his son even won a race.”
Hemsworth spent some time taking some selfies with Tassie locals.
“We kind of wish he came in at a less busy time so we could do a bit more for him,” Mr Cutcliffe said.
“We did try and convince him to have a race for himself but he was just happy watching the kids.”
