An Adelaide United Football Club star has dropped the knee on the home turf and asked his partner to marry him.

An Adelaide United star has dropped his knee on the turf, and not for a usual slide tackle he’d be making, but instead asking for his partner’s hand in marriage.

On Wednesday, March 13, United player, Josh Cavallo announced on Instagram that he was “starting this year with my fiancée” after proposing on the Coopers Stadium pitch.

Thanking his football club for helping him with the surprise, he was elated to soon tie the knot with his partner.

“Mr & Mr Coming soon,” Josh said.

“Thank you @adelaideunited for helping set up this surprise.

“You’re endless support has meant so much to me. You have provided a safe space in football, one that I never in my dreams thought could ever be possible, and encouraged me to live everyday of my life authentically.

“It felt right to share this special moment on the pitch, where it all started.”
