Woman charged with million-dollar restaurant fraud

A Sunshine Coast woman has been charged with fraud after a two-year investigation found she allegedly stole more than $1 million from a prominent restaurant.

A woman has been charged after allegedly defrauding a Hastings St restaurant of $1 million.

DETECTIVES from Noosa Heads Criminal Investigations Branch have charged a 41-year-old woman with one count of steal as a servant.

This follows a two year investigation where it will be alleged more than $1 million was stolen from a Hastings St restaurant, Bistro C, after a complaint was received from the owner.

The manager of the restaurant has declined to comment.

The Noosaville woman was arrested today and will appear in the Noosa Magistrates Court on August 6.
