A woman has been seriously injured in a stabbing incident on a Toowoomba Street

A WOMAN has been stabbed on the side of a Toowoomba road in a serious incident.

TOOWOOMBA police are investigating a serious stabbing at the intersection of Underwood Crescent and Fourth Avenue, in Harristown.

A woman, aged in her 20s, has sustained neck and arm injuries in a stabbing incident shortly after 8am.

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics assessed the woman on scene and transported her in a stable condition to the Toowoomba Hospital.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brian Collins said the initial investigations were under way.

"We have a serious assault reported at Underwood Crescent and uniformed crews are on scene at the moment," he said.
