Police say they hold concerns for two teenage girls missing from the Ipswich area since Monday who may be trying to travel to Cairns.

Police say they hold concerns for two teenage girls missing from the Ipswich area since Monday.

The whereabouts are unknown, although they may be trying to travel to Cairns.

The 15-year-old is described as Caucasian, slim build, 150cm tall, with purple hair. She was last seen wearing black shorts and a jumper.

The 17-year-old is described as 175cm tall, Caucasian, dark brown curly hair and was last seen wearing green tights and grey long sleeve shirt.

Investigators are appealing for the girls or anyone with further information to contact police.
