Police call for dashcam as jogger fights for life

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating an horrific crash where a jogger was struck by a car and carried 50m on the bonnet.

THE Forensic Crash Unit is investigating an horrific crash where a jogger was struck by a car at high speed and carried 50m on the bonnet.

At about 11.15am yesterday, the man in his 20s was struck by a car travelling in the same direction after it came around a bend on Old Gympie Rd at Glasshouse Mountains.

The car then collided with a bridge and the young man was thrown into a gully.

He suffered significant head injuries and was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition.

Queensland Police Service has not received an update on the man’s condition.

Anyone in the area who may have dashcam footage or witnessed the incident is urged to contact police.
