A woman in her 60s has been attacked in her own home by armed robbers who are now on the run.

Police are appealing for information following the robbery with violence at Maryborough on Friday night.

A Queensland Police spokesperson said about 5.40pm, two males allegedly entered a property on Walker Street, before threatening a woman with what was believed to be a firearm and assaulting her.

They then fled on foot.

It’s understood the woman, who did not know the men, received minor injuries and while terrified, did not require transport to hospital.

Police are appealing to drivers or witnesses who were travelling near Walker Street and Ariadne Street between 5.10pm and 5.40pm, who may have seen two males walking in the area to come forward.

The males are described as Caucasian, with proportionate builds.

One man was wearing light coloured clothing, and the other man was wearing dark coloured clothing with a white baseball cap.
