A young man is fighting for life with the help of passers-by, after he was hit by a car and thrown into a gully.

THE horrific details of a crash that left a young man with significant head injuries this morning have been revealed.
A man in his 20s was running along Old Gympie Rd at Glasshouse Mountains at about 11.15am when he was struck by a car that came around a bend.
He was reportedly carried nearly 50m on the bonnet, before it collided with a bridge, throwing him into a nearby gully.
Bystanders pulled the man from the water and performed first aid, before Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics arrived.
RACQ LifeFlight Rescue's aeromedical team treated the man for significant head injuries.
He was flown to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a critical condition.
