Highway closed, cattle trapped after fatal crash

A Darling Downs highway is blocked following a fatal crash between a cattle truck and a four-wheel-drive.

UPDATE, 2.30PM: The Gore Highway is blocked near Millmerran after a fatal collision between a loaded cattle truck and four-wheel drive this afternoon.

Multiple emergency services crews are on scene at the collision near Yandilla where, shortly after 1pm, the vehicles collided in what is believed to be a head-on crash.

Authorities are working to free a number of cattle trapped in the loaded trailer.

It is unknown how many animals were in the trailer, and how many have been seriously injured.

Queensland Ambulance paramedics have assessed one man, aged in his 30s, at the scene but reported he suffered no obvious physical injuries.

The four-wheel drive was on its roof, according to emergency services.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews are working to contain and clear up a large diesel spill.

Four QFES crews remain at the scene.

INITIAL, 1.25PM: ONE person is feared dead after a horror crash between a four-wheel drive and a truck near Millmerran.

Emergency services are on scene of the crash on the Gore Highway at Yandilla, between Millmerran and Pampas.

Initial reports suggest the two vehicles collided shortly after 1pm.

Police and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews are on scene.

The Forensic Crash Unit has been sent to the scene.
