Police asked him to unlock a phone he had previously claimed was his but he refused to give them the PIN and claimed it was someone else’s phone.

Australia's Court System

A northside man will be behind bars until November after police found text messages on his phone organising to supply the drug fantasy to associates.

Corey Lee Bryce pleaded guilty at Pine Rivers Magistrates Court to 26 charges including supplying dangerous drugs, evading police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

The court heard at about 11.45am on Thursday, June 4 police searched Bryce’s home and found a container with 15ml of a liquid police believed was the drug GHB, also known as fantasy.

Police asked Bryce for the password to log into a phone he had previously told them he owned.

Bryce then claimed to police the phone was not his and refused to tell them how to log in.

Police found messages in which Bryce was organising to supply other people with the drug. But there was no evidence he had ever actually supplied others with the drugs.

At a different date police tried to intercept a car Bryce was driving and he refused to pull over.

He accelerated away from police and drove onto the wrong side of the road to escape.

But after he got away from police Bryce surrendered himself to police and made full admissions to being the driver and driving dangerously.

The court heard Bryce turned to drugs after his long-term relationship broke down.

He has been in custody on some of these charges for 55 days.

Bryce was sentenced to 12 months jail, with release on parole after serving four months. With the time he has already served he will be out of jail on November 1.

He was disqualified from driving for two years.
