Traffic is banked up more than 15km on the Bruce Hwy, with major traffic delays following a multi-vehicle crash north of Brisbane.
Emergency services were called to a three-vehicle crash on the Bruce Hwy southbound at North Lakes, just after 6.20pm.
It is understood the crash blocked one lane of the highway, with traffic banked up over 13km, with a delay of 20 minutes reported.
Emergency services left the scene of the Bruce Hwy crash just after 8am.
According to the Queensland Ambulance Service, one person with minor injuries was taken to Redcliffe Hospital in a stable condition.
There is still heavy traffic in the area as commuters attempt to make their way south.
Meanwhile, rail commuters have also faced lengthy delays this morning with the Beenleigh, Cleveland and Gold Coast lines suspended after a vehicle hit a rail bridge at South Brisbane.
TransLink said the lines were operational again at 7.25, but that there would be residual delays of up to 30 minutes.
The Bruce Highway crash came as QldTraffic issued an alert for the possibility of wild horses and livestock around Wild Horse Mountain area near the Bruce Hwy at Coochin Creek, on the Sunshine Coast.
